O'Brian is a master teller of tales. His sea-faring novels take you into the unique world of the British Royal Navy during the Napoleonic Wars. His hero's Aubrey and Maturin are the most unlikely of best friends, and their connection and story bind the whole series together. O'Brian's writing is remarkably detailed and intense in its quest for historical accuracy.  The pages are action packed with naval battles, political intrigue, spy craft and survival on the high seas!   -Mary

I recently discovered the Inspector Gamache series by Louise Penny and started listening to them during my commute to and from work. At the moment, I am up to and completely captivated by Bury Your Dead. Sixth in the series, this mystery includes a brilliant layering of events past and present, and mesmerizing descriptions of Quebec and its history (a place I must now visit). -Sue

"Present Over Perfect is bestselling author Shauna Niequist’s motto for how to live a rich, engaged, and loving life in the midst of what often feels terribly messy and imperfect. Many of us find ourselves busier than we want to be, missing the sweetest moments along the way.
