This job consists of routine work to maintain the cleanliness of the facility and grounds in a friendly work environment. This employee regularly performs cleaning, and assists with seasonal mowing and snow blowing as needed. The position is supervised by the Maintenance Manager. The Canajoharie Library is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Librarian. The Canajoharie Library provides literary, entertainment, and information resources, and promotes the active use of these resources, for recreation, education, and community engagement. The Librarian oversees all library services at the Canajoharie Library and reports to the Executive Director of the Canajoharie Library and Arkell Museum.
The Canajoharie Library and adjoining Arkell Museum are one legal organization, offering a unique opportunity to serve patrons, visitors, and students in a culturally rich and welcoming environment. The Library and Museum enjoy a shared history, and are jointed funded by endowment income and committed foundation support. A Master’s Degree in library science or equivalent from a school that is accredited by the American Library Association is preferred; candidates must be eligible for or possess a New York State Public Librarian certification and have professional experience in a library environment. To ensure compliance with Covid-19 health and safety measures if you are unable to wear a mask please use our curbside pick up service call 518-673-2314 x103 to set up an appointment. Pick up service is by appointment only!
What you need to know:
Order materials through our online ordering system anytime. If you would like to have materials from our local collection place a hold, or call us and we will help you find something and set up an appointment for pick up. Staff will not accept material returns at curb side. You must put returns in our outside drop box.

Library Board Meeting
